Empowering Young People
The Mayfield & Easthouses Y2K Project, established in 2000 thanks to local businesses and community members, empowers young people aged 11-21 in our community. We found a welcoming home in an old church manse, generously donated for youth services.
Over 500 young people find support here each year.
At Y2K, we work with over 500 young people each year. We offer a variety of services, including drop-in sessions, separate programs for boys and girls, support for young people at risk of becoming involved in harmful or offending behaviours, and one-on-one mentoring.

What can young people gain from Y2K?
A voice and a role: Young people have a say in planning our programs and activities.
Fun and friends: We offer team-building exercises, problem-solving activities, and free physical activities to keep things exciting.
Positive choices: We help young people understand the difference between healthy risk-taking and dangerous behaviour
Overall well-being: Our programs and workshops focus on physical, mental, and emotional health.

Recognition: Young people can earn awards for their partcipation and involvement
Positive connections: We help young people build strong friendships with their peers.
A safe haven: We’re open when other places are closed, offering a positive alternative to hanging out on the streets.
A brighter future: Y2K provides a safe space for young people to make their voices heard, take charge of their well-being, and build a strong foundation for the future. We can also connect them with other local resources and support services.
