Jamie arrived at Y2K today!

We have had a fantastic day with our new BFF Jamie the Unicorn! We met him at RUTS just before lunchtime and he insisted on checking the map to make sure he was going to spend his visit in the very best places in Midlothian. No doubt about that since first stop was the National Mining Museum where Jamie headed straight to the pit-head with his Y2K pals. He got down and dirty in a coal-cart but when he took a break and was caught daydreaming without his safety gear on he got dragged into the gaffer’s box for a talking-to! He redeemed himself with a stint on the coal-cutter before hitching a backy and then sneaking over to Mayfield on another coal-cart (just the sort of dodgy move we are used to at Y2K!) Well… once at the project Jamie got a welcome fit for a King – kicking back in the throne crafted for him by minion young people! His subjects entertained him with unicorny-jokes, games and a themed buffet (no unicorns were harmed in the preparation of the delicacies!). Jamie received the highest honour we could bestow – he was awarded a Hoodie and is now a member of the dream team. This was sealed with a somewhat overenthusiastic hug from Liz who was overcome at finding someone the same size as her! Jamie and our young people partied on and he is now slumped in front of one of our computers sleeping off unicorn nuggets and diluting juice… just a normal day at Y2K! We will be very sorry to wave our new pal off tomorrow morning…
